During our trip to Japan, Bill and I stumbled upon a hidden gem in Akihabara called Satsuma Ramen. This old ramen store, which had gained fame on social networking sites in the U.S., was a place we had to visit at least once. The main menu item at Satsuma Ramen was their renowned "Vegetable Ramen".

As we entered the store, we were greeted by a cozy atmosphere that exuded a sense of tradition. The aroma of simmering broth filled the air, instantly whetting our appetites. We eagerly placed our orders for the Vegetable Ramen, excited to try what this place had to offer.

When the bowls arrived at our table, we were met with a visually appealing sight. The ramen was adorned with an assortment of colorful vegetables, creating a vibrant and appetizing presentation. The broth, a flavorful soy-based soup, was rich and aromatic, complementing the fresh and crisp vegetables perfectly.

But what set Satsuma Ramen apart were the condiments provided on the table. There were two types of garlic: soy-sauce soaked garlic and grated garlic. Intrigued by the locals, we decided to add generous amounts of these toppings to our ramen. The combination of the garlic's pungent flavor and the savory broth created a tantalizing and powerful taste that left us craving for more.

After finishing our meal, Bill and I continued our adventure and found ourselves in a maid cafe. Little did we know that our indulgence in the garlic-laden ramen would have an unexpected consequence. The maid we encountered seemed particularly taken by our aroma, and before we knew it, we found ourselves sharing a kiss with the maid of our dreams. It was an amusing and memorable experience that added an extra layer of fun to our trip.

In the end, our visit to Satsuma Ramen left us with delightful memories. The flavorful Vegetable Ramen, enhanced by the garlic condiments, was a true culinary delight. It was a perfect representation of the unique and diverse food culture we encountered during our journey in Japan.
